Guardians with access to the parent portal will have two features added if your institute has the finance module installed. Payment requests in the menu headers, and a dashlet for quick payment links.
Payment requests
This will show all transactions and give the final balance. It will allow users to pay if you have set up online payments. Users can download PDF copies of their invoices, and credit notes.
Click on the blue description which will open a slideover providing further details on the item. From the slide-over panel users can download the original invoice or the receipt if the status is settled.
If the item needs payment and you have activated the online payment options. The pay button will appear.
Users can select the provider and proceed to the online payment screens.
Items will show these statuses;
The invoice has been published, and the due date has not passed | |
The invoice has been paid | |
The due date is now passed for the invoice |
Users have to option to open the PDF invoice or credit note directly in a new tab on their browser by clicking on the document icon. Use the arrow to open a download option.
Paying online
MySchool works with two payment providers, Stripe and Paysimple
These can be added in the configuration panel. MySchool provides the service and all charges are between your institute and the payment provider.
Users select the provider from the drop-down. You do not need to activate both providers.
The full amount is automatically attributed as the amount to pay. Users can uncheck the 'Pay amount in full' checkbox and adjust the amount accordingly. A description field shows the invoice details to the right.
For Stripe payments, the user is directed to the external checkout page and can proceed to enter their card payments on their platform.
After clicking the pay button, the user will be directed to a confirmation page, showing payment reference, amount and the possibility to print a copy of the payment receipt. All payments would need to be processed on your Stripe admin panel, we are unable to support any issues that may occur on their platform.
For Pay Simple, the payment screen is within MySchool, the user should enter their valid card details.
Please note there is no partial payment option available for Pay Simple, and the full amount will be paid.
Once successful, the user will have a confirmation page, where they can print the receipt or close to return to the Parent Portal,
The dashlet will only show outstanding payments and allow guardians to pay directly from there.
