MySchool works with our community to build tools to help solve everyday problems. As a community-driven product, we have released medical certificate management as part of the Core SIS package. It is a tool that allows guardians to upload certificates via the parent portal and for these to be validated and stored on an administrator management view.
No more continuous reminders or lost certificates. Keep your records complete and paperless all the while making admin tasks a little easier.
What are the new tools?
If you would like to activate this module then please contact our support team. You must have an activated parent portal and be using MySchool attendance for it to function.
We will add a new dashlet to the parent portal. And we will also add the medical management page to Administer/Options for your administration team. They can accept or reject uploaded certificates. And have all attendance information in one easy-to-use admin panel.
How does it work?
The trigger will only work on attendance statuses that have Abs and not excused checked. Check out your statuses and make sure everyone is aware of the correct status to trigger the Guardian portal options.
Once attendance has been saved. The widget will show on the parent portal.
It will show as a consecutive date range if the student has been noted absent during those days.
N.B: The guardian portal dashboard is student-specific for this widget. If guardians have siblings then they must first select the student from the drop-down option in the menu headers.
The guardian opens the upload slide over. They can add a scanned image or photo of the certificate, and fill out the relevant details, such as the start and end date of the certificate and the Doctor's registration number. If they have two separate events then they can upload more photos.
Administrators process the request
Administrators will have this mapped in the Administer menu header under Advanced options. There are three tabs: Pending, Accepted and Rejected.
Open any pending request and the details are shown :
The dates are mandatory and must cover the first day of absence until the last day of absence. Also, a doctor registration number must be entered. If this is not provided, you can enter N/A or similar.
Choose to apply the medical certificate to all the days or amend it according to the details on the certificate.
Stats will appear concerning the absences for this current year. All you have to do is validate or reject the certificate, which will reopen the request on the parent portal.
