Security is key for MySchool platforms, controlled by user groups and their various permissions and contexts. Your CSM will help you create these groups and work with you to check access rights. Super users have the default rights to amend permissions for these groups. We always suggest you contact our team to verify the settings if you need to change anything.
We have introduced a new system where the management of these permissions is set to a specific group. Particularly useful in multi-school systems.
Group editor rights
On the fundamentals tab, there is now a group editors field. Here you choose a security group that can amend memberships and change permissions. This is connected to a new permission Manage Groups Advanced.
With the permission set to no. The user with the above settings will not be able to amend permissions for any groups, they will still be able to add members to groups to which their user group has been added as a group editor. They can create distribution groups and add members within their security context.
Editing rights
With editing rights, users can now create security groups, and amend permissions If they have been added as a group editor. There are three levels of permission; No, Restrict to security context, and All Schools.
NB: All schools will enable users to change schools in a multi-school system. It will ignore the school field settings, set in the membership tab of the user group.
