In MySchool, students and guardians can be gathered together into a household. It allows for easy address labelling, or mailing. It also means you do not need to enter the address for students, and all their attached guardians multiple times.
How to access
Find an existing student, or create a new one. Go to the Contacts tab and create a New contact for a guardian to be attached to this student. Follow the steps on this article to create new guardians for the student.
Now with two guardians added, click on the Household button. A pop up screen appears with both parents.
The drop down menu gives you the option to create a new household. Press Process to join the records and create a household. You will be able to see now three entries in relation to the student.
MySchool has attached the father and mother under one household (parents). Click on the name and an edit contact screen will pop up. In the Particulars tab, under Other Details, you can see this is classed now as a Household.
Go to contact information and fill out the address for the household. This is now applied to all contacts attached to the student. It can be used in quick reports, for grade report headings, and mail labels. It also keeps the information centralised reducing time needed to make updates.
Once set as a household then the contact info will be relative to all members of the household. Additional members are added in the Dependants tab of that household.
Just click Add dependant to bring up a search icon to find the User, and set the Relationship tab to the correct status (Parents, Brother, Sister etc).
