Protecting Your Data, Supporting Your Team
As part of our ongoing commitment to quality and clarity, we have updated our data recovery policy to help you in cases where data is accidentally deleted. We understand that teams evolve, roles change, and mistakes can happen — but in most cases, if data was created, it served a purpose.
Please note: MySchool does not impose storage limits, so there's no need to delete old records to save space. We recommend preserving data history wherever possible.
🛡️ Preventing Data Loss – Best Practices
1. Review your user groups and permissions
Most deletion errors stem from overly broad permissions. We strongly recommend limiting delete permissions to your Super Admin team only.
Keep in mind:
- Some deletions are blocked by the system if the data is linked elsewhere.
- In some modules, a delete action may be available directly on an edit screen — train your team to proceed with care.
2. Use archiving instead of deleting
When available, use the “Archive” or “Deactivate” options instead of deletion. This maintains historical integrity without cluttering current data.
3. Ask before you delete
If you're not 110% sure of what a delete action will do, contact our support team. We’re happy to guide you.
4. Note the date and time of deletion
This information significantly speeds up the recovery process if needed.
5. Pause and ask: "Do I really need to delete this?"
A quick moment of reflection can prevent hours of recovery work.
💡 Common Scenarios Where Data Recovery is Requested
- Copying or rolling over assessments
- Deleting classes or courses
- Removing LMS resources
💰 Recovery Charges
Manual data recovery can be time-intensive and is not included in standard support. When data is deleted due to user error, a recovery quote will be issued based on the estimated time required.
The minimum charge is 140 EUR / CAD / USD per hour, billed in 1-hour increments.
Once the quote is accepted, we will begin the recovery process and invoice accordingly.
We’re here to help you keep your data safe and your operations running smoothly. If you'd like help reviewing your user permissions or training your team on safer workflows, feel free to contact us.
