When you start to use the system, you will realise that there are many notifications sent following an action, these are not announcements, but we call them 'messages'. In certain cases, these can be modified to meet your internal requirements.
We advise that you contact our support team before making amendments to any of these messages. When adding the replacement tags, they must be exactly as they are on the list, otherwise, they will not work as expected. Also, be aware that the messages are viewed on many devices. Heavy formatting may not be applicable for certain mobiles for example.
Who can edit these?
As these are messages sent to users, we advise that access is restricted to your super user group. users would need access to the permission Edit message template.
To find the messages, navigate to administer/advanced options/edit messages.
Default templates
You will see the message type dropdown, which will list the default messages for your system. You cannot create new messages without first contacting our services. However, you can amend the wording and format on an existing one.
Here is a list of editable default messages within the default MySchool system. Some systems may have different options based on enterprise/custom modules.

VLE > Course resource management > Send email When a new resource or an update occurs within the VLE module to any content. |
EVENT_DELETE_NOTIFICATION |
Administer > Advanced Options > New Event management Triggered when an event is cancelled. This is sent to all participants. |
MISSING_CONTRIBUTION_NOTIFICATION |
Review > Contribution statistics > Email teachers An email is sent to the assigned course teacher when contributions are mandatory and missing |
NEW_ASSIGNMENT |
Assignement>Create> Email teachers When Teachers create a new assignment. Select to notify students. |
NEW_DISCIPLINE |
Discipline > Report event Email sent to configured contacts when a behaviour event is created. |
NEW_INVOICE |
Finance > Transactions > New Invoice Notification to invoice payers to log on and download invoice PDF. |
NEW_JOURNAL_ENTRY |
Finance > Transactions > New payment Sent if selected when adding a payment or adjustment to a user account balance. |

New user > Activate account When a new user creates an account via programme builder or admissions. |

Validation check > Duplicate account detected When a user attempts to create a new account with the same primary email as other users. A validation message will be sent. |
SIGNUP::DISABLED_USER |
Validation check > Duplicate disabled account When a user tries to create a new account, the system detects if the primary email is used on a non-active profile. |
SMS_ABSENT_REPORT |
Administer > SMS > NEW SMS > Absence report The automated SMS message sent to guardians when dependant has been classed as absent. |

Replacement tags, how do they work?
To personalise the messages and notifications, MySchool uses a system called replacement tags. if you click on the i Body icon, you can see the list of fields available. A replacement tag would look into the field and pull the information from the profile or school.
If you have any issues with the format of the message, then contact our support team for help and guidance in building the message. if the message is not listed then please do contact us, but however, some areas may not be configurable per school.
