Many systems work from a system of credits, and allocated courses per period which count as going towards certain certificates, and awards. Equally, we understand the difficulty of scheduling students, especially if they have a wide choice of subjects which count towards their final grades. MySchool can allocate mandatory periods to subjects, and periods per lesson.
The Course time distribution is not a scheduler nor does it replace manual timetabling. It is a period allocation tool. Access this function via the Administer menu header, under Advanced functions, and search for Course time distribution.
The first steps, are to set up the subjects within the courses and classes, MySchool enables you to do this via the Subject management feature. To understand further then read here for details regarding subjects, courses, and classes.
Allocate how many periods are allocated to each subject per week, and how many of these periods are per lesson slot.
This function does not allocate credits, nor book periods. It is a an reporting tool to ensure students have completed a mandatory amount of subjects during a week.
Checking the allocation
In the Subject management tab, you can see the allocation, so Timetable administrators can now book this subject for 4 individual periods per week.
There are custom reports linked to this function, contact our support team for further assistance on this.
