If you use the scheduling function within MySchool, then the system will be able to track availability of Teachers and check students availability. If your schedule has been created using rooms and courses have been scheduled to the rooms, then you can also find free rooms within your school.
How to access
All three reports are classed as non restricted, and are available for all staff users of MySchool who have access to the data report section.Go to the Data reports menu header, and search for the appropriate find tool in the list.
Find a Teacher
You need to select the time period, and the date. The preset range option shows all the timetable configurations that are available in your school. Available teachers will have a blank field. Teachers with periods booked during the day, also appear, and they will be shown as red boxes within the day planner field.
Find a Student
Finding students who do not have full periods, is a useful tool when building schedules. It can be used to track senior students, who have free periods, and may need to book extra periods for thesis or dissertation. The filters are the day, the length of the period (set it to 60mins. Then select by school level.
If an entire class is shown in here, then check the class schedules to make sure that the gap is intentional and planned. Check the course allocation report to see if the correct number of courses have been allocated to the class.
Find a room
Finding free rooms can be frustrating, but if you have created the rooms, and followed a schedule then MySchool can help you allocate resources quickly and easily with the room finder. Select the date and time range. The presets show the scheduled periods as per your timetables configuration.
Also set the capacity of the room required, if this has been entered in the room management system. If no capacity is entered, then leave 0 as default. Press find to produce the list. If there are rooms matching the criteria that have no course or appointment booked, then use the Book Room function. This will open the appointment screen.
