We are still busy during the summer break and have a few big updates for the new scholastic year. We will keep you informed on their delivery. The main changes planned are with continuous assessment, announcements, and notifications.
Guardian relationship
When we add a dependant (Student) to a user profile, they inherit the permissions assigned to the guardian user group. Some functionalities were linked directly to a specific relationship type (mother/father only can see certain dashlets for example). The support team can now assist you by setting your access rights for other relationship types if needed (grandparents, agents, or other). We can also arrange the relationship drop down field to change the most commonly used to appear at the top of the list.
Subject specifications statistics
We have upgraded an existing report page, grade_report/contribution_statistics.php, to help export assessment grades, when using the new subject specifications. Although these still need to be limited to a course level, you can export the information from the assess grid straight to excel. If you do not have access to this page, then ask our support team to add this to your instance.
Please note that we are continually working on our reporting functionalities, we have technical limitations for larger detailed reports, which may cause system hang or slowdown.
Address labels
We have reorganised the address labels to export in alphabetical order, and also to available for household export. Check out this article showing you how to produce the labels.
SMS messaging
If you are using the SMS communication tool in MySchool, then please note that we have an SMS billing page, which enables you to control costs. The price of sending an SMS is dependent on the country of the mobile. For example, a Maltese number will costs $ 0.0495 per message, whereas a Candian number costs $ 0.0075. VAT will be added if applicable, we apply a charge at cost price.
Assessment report preview
For schools using our new assessment report template we are continually updating features, and adding configuration options to meet your requirements. When you start designing assessment reports, you can now see how they look, allowing you to create the report cards you need.
With new releases due w/c 17th August, we are adding a preview button to our assessment report configuration page.
Our team are offering to help schools move from the legacy reporting pages to the new subject specification/assessment report module. Please contact our support team to organise a call to help with this transition.
Year 2020/21 kick off
Nearly the end of the summer break, and we are preparing for the long awaited return to school 20/21. If you need any help with rollover then reach out to our support team to organise a roll over call.
If you would like to submit product ideas for future improvements, then please make sure you have access to our ideas page, we need your feedback to be able to develop even better tools for your MySchool community.
