We have all been busy since the restart this year, and have a full release roadmap planned for the coming months. Here is a short overview of the autumn improvements;
IEP print out improvements
If you use our IEP module, you can now choose which part you need to print or save as a PDF. We are working on this module, and it is due for a complete revamp in 2021. If you would like to forward your requirements then please submit them on our ideas portal.
We have also made all the IEP fields exportable in quick reports.
Edit messages
Some of the system automated messages can be edited and customised. A full explanation is available here. These system messages use 'magic tags' allowing the messages to be personalised. We have added now the possibility to include the students name as part of these messages.
User Group People picker
If you are creating a fixed member or a distribution user group, you now can use the people picker to add the members.
Subject specifications
With more schools choosing to move to our new assessment report, we are continually updating the functionalities available. Stated term grades are an assessment type, allowing users to show grades from one term period within another terms report card. These are particularly useful for end of year report cards, or if you wish to show a students progression over the year.
The applicable assessment types that can be used are:
- Grade
- Assignment Average
- Assignment Average W/ Override
- Attendance %
- Formula
- Formula W/Override
- Stated Term Grade
- Scale
Assessment report builder
We have also included the possibility to use a different logo when using our assessment report builder.
As default, the report will use the system logo, and the height can be adjusted in the Logo Height override. Enter a percentage to make your logo bigger or smaller on the front page. If you wish to use a different logo for your report cards, then simply upload a JPG for your report. You cannot use any other file format, and you should always test the resolution, before scaling this.
Assignment Statistics
We have added the possibility to export a students complete assignment average across all subjects. This has been added to the statistics page (grade_report/contribution_statistics.php). If you do not have this page mapped, then please contact our support team to make this tool available.
If you are using a classic numeric grade scale, we have adapted the student facing graph to represent their progress over time.
As administrators or users with full school level access to assignment, we have improved the performance of the create assignment page. This page is attached to the create assignment permission, and normally for course Teachers, the list is restricted to their courses. Admins can now search for a course using the arrow icons highlighted.
SMS Billing
If you use our SMS module, you can now export the costs in Excel. Note that the costs are minimal, but vary on country.
Please check out the relative rates on Twilio.
Parental access
Mainly for Adult education, the team were required to develop a functionality that would stop Parental access to the portal after their dependant arrived at the age of 18. This is a system setting and can only be activated by our support team.
Programme builder
This module, designed for the higher education sector has received some improvements. When using the rollover feature, the institutions using this can now rollover enrolled students if they have a multi year programme. We have also built a page to be able to export results per programme (content/grade_report/programme_contribution_statistics.php).
Alert Icons
Some of our schools already have this feature activated, but now if you wish to flag a student profile with the icons for IEP, Legal, and Medical alerts, then this can be done via system settings. Simply contact our support team to activate this on your schools system.
City finder
Data control is one of our primary aims, and we had noticed that when schools entered a city, that this could include spelling mistakes, abbreviations, and case sensitive entries. When you fill out a city, the system will always try to find the closest matches so that you use the same label across your user address fields.
