MySchool has always put assessment at the top of it's tool list, trying to make it easier for Educators to create, access, and enter assessment criteria for their students. With assignments, VLE resources, and subject specifications, we are sure we can find a way to adapt to your schools needs.
Adminsitrators or heads of year need to configure the assessments before educators can contribute. This video showcases some of the basic assessment features available for Teachers.
1. Assignment averages and Learning outcome as evidences
If you use the assignment module then you can carry the average from the assignment grid into the assessment grid. This can be combined with an override for the assessment report. If the assignments have been recorded against learning outcomes, then they will also be shown as evidences within the review panel.
2. Numerical entries
When using numerical assessment types in the assess grid, then you can carry term averages across terms, and decide whether to use as internal reference or publish them to the report cards to show progression. We call these stated term grades. These numerical values can be used within formula fields to calculate semester or year end final grades.
3. Grid vs List view
Your educators can choose the view which suits their needs. Drag and drop marking on the assess grid, makes it easier if you have same scales, and comments. The list view is great for full labels of your learning outcomes, and has an appealing layout, you also get to see the picture of the student which can help.
4. Comments and templates
Comments are great way to give feedback to the students and promote efforts, identify weaknesses, and it's always nice to get a personal remark from your Teacher. Using rich text, Teachers can create comment templates with adaptive name and pronoun tags. This makes assessments efficient and simple, with a smartly designed end output using our assessment report builder.
Please note that most assessment features are designed to work in synchronisation with each other. if you are still using legacy assessments and wish to transition to the new module, then book a meeting with our CSM team.
Reviewing and Publishing
Although Teachers may only have access to the assessment grid, it is useful to understand how reviewing and finally publishing works within your MySchool instance. In this in depth tutorial, we look at the review page, and Access/Publishing functionality.
