The product and technical teams have finished working on a new design for your MySchool platform. We are pleased to announce that the upgrade is planned for the end of the scholastic year (End June/July 2021).
You will receive more information via our support channel closer to the date.
We are constantly improving and adapting the interface to meet the growing changes in hand held and tablet marketplace. This update makes it easier for us to perform maintenance to the platform without additional system down time.
Your feedback has been vital, and we really appreciate all the ideas we receive. With the new set up we will be able to monitor your suggestions from the idea board through the development cycle and finally to live release.
We will be contacting the super users via the support channel to confirm the upgrade date.
Here are some of the improvements we have lined up for your systems;
Impersonation
A widely used tool has received a cosmetic change, where target users are colour coded.
Time travel
We have integrated the year within the slide over menu. The user icon is now green when you select a year which is not your system year.
Consents
As an improvement to our consents module, which allows both staff and guardians to give consent for school requirements. In line with GDPR, schools can choose whether to block access to the parent portal until consent is registered. This will only work with main guardian access.
Course transfer
Individual student transfer is still possible, however, we have made this easier for bulk transferring students between courses. Choose to copy assessments and assignments within the same subject.
Login page branding
Following numerous requests, schools can now brand the login screen with their own image. Provide our support team with a high quality image, and we can apply this to your system login page.
Student profile
We have changed the enrolment and assessment tabs, and made the forms and fields more conform with the rest of the new platform. You can still access a students historic enrolment details, via the drop down year selector.
Visual changes
You will notice that we have made a real effort to make screens and action items more conform around modules. All buttons will be located in the same place, forms and list views have been improved. We are still working on including more on-screen hints and tips which explain some of the system settings available in the configuration panel.
Super Search
The results in the super search will now also show a colour 'tab' to quickly identify the result as a student, staff, guardian etc.
Checkbox improvements
Checkboxes will now contain explanatory notes next to them making it easier to understand what they do. We are updating all checkboxes over time.
Courses/Classes
The configuration tab in these pages has been renamed to “Main Info”.
Student Profiles
Enrolment/Assessment sub-tabs have been removed and we have added a drop-down, when a year is selected then data in that year will be loaded.
The enrolment tab had further changes, the history/joining/leaving information has been moved to the right. With the courses/classes showing on the left.
Buttons
In forms, buttons will now always be placed at the bottom. The Delete button will always be at the far left with the other options on the far right.
Tabs
The tabs format has also changed, instead of them showing in the header section, they are part of the form.
Font
The standard font we use has slightly changed.
Header Icons
Icons in header sections on pages will not only show on profiles but on other pages like courses and subjects.
Year/Term/Timetable List Views
The list views for Academic Years, Terms and Timetable have changed. The Edit button next to each one of them has been removed, to edit click on the name. The create button has been moved to the bottom to match every other list page.
List Views
The list view pages have changed, with the introduction of forms showing the list of items, and another form with the filters. The primary button has been moved to the bottom of the list of items.
