Our team has been working on some improvements to our default assessment system. The busy development team have managed to release some neat features which are now live on your MySchool portal.

Assessment sections

When you select course grades in the default assessment report, schools had requested to be able to group their assessments under sub headers on the PDF report. Now in subject specifications it is possible to group assessments types together.

Each assessment type will have the following new field added;

Click on edit to add a new section group header. You will only be able to see this on the assessment report, not on the assess or review pages. This will be available for all assessment types.

Hide if blank on report

Another new feature, which can be found in all assessment types, is the option to hide the assessment from the final PDF if no grade or entry is made during that specific reporting period. please note that assessment headers and section headers will still appear on the PDF default assessment. 

Show previously graded learning outcomes

If you use learning outcomes in your assessment build then, you can carry over previously graded scores from historic assessment terms. These will ONLY populate the default assessment report not the assess or review pages.

Changes to the additional values

In the numeric grade fields, there is the possibility of adding an additional value such as N/A, Exc. if this grade was part of the formula, then these were not included in the final formula calculation.

Now if you use 0|NA each time that an educator enters a NA on the assess or review pages the value will no longer be Nul, but counted as zero and included in the formula as such.

If you have already used these values, and alter a current assessment type then you will affect previous formula fields. Please contact our support team for best practice in this case. 

Update news

We are now in the final phases for the planned update in June/July 2021. You will be receiving confirmation via the support desk as to the planned date for your school. Remind your users not to use the system on that day, although the down time will not require a full day. We cannot reliably confirm an exact time, but confirmation will be sent via the support channel once the update is completed on the day.

Summer grade report season and rollover

As we head into the final straight for 2021 school year, we ask you to check your assessment builds for the final publishing period. Tips and checks are available on this article. We are unable to accommodate any change requests for June/July 2021 season. Our CSM team have to juggle a lot of requests and we would really appreciate your cooperation by planing a meeting in advance, to allow them to organise their calendars. 

Incident log 

• Lo's were still showing even if they were not active.
• My contact details in a custom page was not saving the state field. 
• Teacher selected weight fields were showing on all types of formula assessment types. This has now been removed. 
• Calculated scales were not showing in the assess grid. 
• ASC import had a system error. 
• Wrong header for the subject specifications.
• Unable to add enrolment dates to the students profile.
• SLC number was not showing on the grade report. 
• Los were showing twice on the grade report. 
• Summer school was impacting the students enrolment.
• Appointments were not showing on MySchedule. 
• Custom certificate amendment.
• System error for on the user groups page. 

• The SLC list of informal education was showing duplicates (Malta)

• Assessment grades was not showing on custom report card. This was fixed.

• Terms were not showing for 2021-2022 in certain schools. This was changed.

• Rework of legacy exam module following update.

• Certain institutes noticed that their calendar was showing the incorrect time when appointments were scheduled. This was rectified.

• Error message when accessing the legacy assess/review pages following update. This was repaired.

• All schools were unable to publish, upload files and logos. This was repaired.

• Attendance for summer class level was not possible We have added the functionality so that summer class levels can have attendance taken now.
