To build your assessment report sections then MySchool is continually working to include all our communities needs. if there is a particular need not yet available then please submit the idea into our product board so that the team can plan to integrate if possible. Once you have built the assessments in subject specifications, you can now see how they look on the final report.
Click on the section type to add it to the list and order them for your report. Use the cog icon to configure advanced options per section.
Course grades
One of the main sections used to create the report. It will collect the information from subject specifications and show these within a sectioned table per course/subject.
Course label name
- Choose which title will be used for the subject.
- Curriculum and Transcript labels are in subject settings and must be added manually.
Show assessment label
Determine how the sub sections should be listed from subject specifications.
- Label and titles are entered onto the subject specifications page. Each assessment type has a label, and the assessment build has a title.
Show learning outcomes progress bar
When learning outcomes are used, and a colour code has been added to the achievement scale, you can choose to show a progress bar or just the assessment. It is a great way to brighten up the report card for younger students.
Show max out for numerical grades
When setting a numerical grade within subject specifications, you are asked for the maximum value. this can be shown on the report card.
Show full scale label
If you are using an achievement scale, you can either use the short code or the full label.
If the full scale label is too long for the report, then why not use a text field to explain the short codes to your students and guardians.
Page per course
For more complex reports with multiple assessment criteria, it may be better to show one course assessment per page. Check out how this looks in Preview mode.
Add course Teacher signature
Not only can you include a user signature for the overview comment, but each course teacher can add a Jpeg to their user profile file tab and class it as a signature file type. The assessment section will then have a signature file field added at the bottom of the assessment groups.
Include withdrawn courses
Decide whether or not to show the assessments from students withdrawn courses. A student is classed as withdrawn if their course enrolment dates do not match the course duration dates.
Show numeric results for learning outcomes
If you are using a numerical scale, then the report can calculate the totals and sub totals of your subject learning outcomes. There must be points set up in your achievement scale.
- Overall total is all learning outcomes added for a total score
- Section and overall totals, will break down each learning outcome section (Folder)
Static Text
Static text boxes are designed for standard text comments for your report cards. They have rich text editing options to allow for formatting. They can be used to explain scales, assessment criteria, or even to give a foreword or summary from the Head of school. They are not adaptive and will appear the same for all students. You can add as many as you need to break down the report.
Add pictures of events, or sporting achievements for the period, or simply a class of year xx photo for the end of year summary. Don't forget to get publication consent from the students in the images.
User comment
The user comment is directly linked to the overview tab on the review page. It is designed for class Teachers or reviewers to give overall summary or feedback for the student so it is individual and adaptive when using comment templates.
- Search for the signatory name
- Make sure they have a jpeg with their signature uploaded to their user profile. (Type: Signature)
- Determine whether to show legal or common name
- determine whether to show position held from the employment tab of their user profile.
Attendance
Many schools choose to show attendance stats for the assessment period. This can either be included in yours subject assessment builds and used as a pass/fail criteria. If you wish to have this separate and spread over all subjects then choose to use this section instead.
- Decide how you would like the data to be shown - Period or Day count, Term or whole year
- Determine what you would like to show your students.
Grade point average
It is possible to include a GPA calculation based on a numeric grade within your subject specifications. It will give an average, from the primary numeric assessment grade, for each subject that has been included in the calculation.
Two options are available, either a straight average (SUM total of numeric primary grades /Number of subjects included in GPA), or a weighted GPA which uses the subject credits to weight the calucations.
Student label info
The student label info is a rich text editor with the added feature of replacement tags. It will also detect any custom fields on the profiles and allow you to create an information panel or text for the student named in the report.
Pass/Fail logic
You can include an automated decision based on your primary assessment field, if this is a numeric grade entry. It can be attached to attendance stats as well.
- Determine how many times a student can fail the grade (across terms)
- Place the minimum grade to be achieved for a pass stamp to be applied.
- Change the label to your internal wording needs
- Enter the pass value field and allow for an override decision
The decision will show on the Review/overview tab for each student. If allow override is selected then the reviewer can amend the decision.
Compact course grades
Creates a tabular summary report for all is exam terms, and each primary assessment field within subject specifications. This type of report card needs a very specific assessment build, and we advise you to contact your CSM for help with this.
Printable home address
This is an option for schools who still wish to print out their report cards for classic mail sending. It will add a page with the guardians address in format printed to appear in a windowed envelope. Another option is to use the label generator from quick reports or data reports section.
