One of the great advantages of course resource lesson planners is that the lessons can be grouped within a topic, and the students can review content whenever they need to during the scholastic year. They also have access to previous years' content which can act as refreshers or revision aids. If educators create their lesson plans at the start of the year, it will also show both students and guardians the aims and objectives of the course and can be used to remind students of material when needed for practical exercises.
If you want to create topic and content centrally for each subject for all the connected courses, then check out this article which explains how to create this via subject specifications.
Add content to your resource pack
Add content to a topic folder to help students access the needed information more easily. Select the man reading icon to open the slide-over panel.
Title
Add a title. This will show on the course resource dashlet. Incorporate an index to guide the students through the lesson progression (Lesson 1, Lesson 2). You can even use a date or a term label if you wish. This way students will be aware of what to expect during their scheduled lessons during a set period.
Available from and Active
If you wish to show the content straight away then you can leave this blank and check the active field. If you wish to introduce the content slowly or after specific events, then enter a date using the date picker.
Notify students/guardians
If these notifications are checked the system will send a simple notification email to the students enrolled in the courses, and their main guardians. This notification can be edited using the message editor functionality. Talk to your CSM before changing the content to make sure the Magic tags have been entered correctly.
Build your lesson plan
Copy across the Educator's courses
Another great tool is the ability to copy this content across all of the courses to which the educator is assigned and enrolled. You can also choose the topic folder directly from the copy page. Once the content has been copied across, the create column will change to update and the same can be done to update each time the content has been changed and saved.
