MySchool IEPs are now attached to assessment criteria, which will allow users to follow progress towards objectives or global IEP goals set out for their students. Determine the regularity, create detailed assessment criteria, and even create bespoke achievement scales for your IEP reports.
Configuration panel
Users will need to have access to the configuration panel to be able to configure the assessments centrally. They can be applied to each student who has an IEP created. The configuration screen is located on the reporting tab. Let's look at the options.
Open the new assessment section by selecting add. A pop-up window will give you multiple options to build your custom assessments.
Enter an appropriate label for the assessment. The scope allows you to attach it to the IEP in general, or only attach it to a specific objective. The objective must be created and active on the student's IEP.
Determine the regularity of the assessment, and this can be attached via the assessment tab of the student.
There are options to disable assessments or to include them as default for all students. Move the slider to the right to activate.
Choose the assessment field types
You must enter a label, and then select an input type. The required column will make an entry mandatory on the student's IEP.
What are the assessment input types?
- Single-line text - Apply this for one or two-word answers. This is a plain text entry
- Multi-line text - Used for longer answers. Again this is a plain text entry.
- Rich Text - Free text box with formatting options.
- File upload - Users can attach files to the IEP. Note there are still restrictions on file type and size.
- Date editor - Enters a date/calendar picker to the assessment.
- Staff - Assign a staff user to the assessment from the drop-down list of users.
- Checkbox - Include a check box as a list.
You can also apply a scale, which you can use already created scales used in the default assessment module, or create specific scales for your IEP objectives.
Then determine whether the assessments are mandatory and if they should appear in your IEP report template.
Using the assessments on the student IEP
After creating the IEP, you will see the different action buttons connected to the four assessment choices;
- Ad hoc
- Yearly
- Termly
- Daily
These are connected to the types of assessment made available in the configuration page under the Reporting tab.
They are a great way to track progress and have multiple use cases for Individual learning programs for your high achievers.
