What is the course diary?

The course diary functionality is available to all course educators. New entries are made via My Schedule/calendar and now we have added easy access via the LMS module.

My Courses

Course educators can still access diary comments via their schedule. Click on a scheduled period and the option 'Create diary entry' appears. These entries are visible in your My Courses menu header. Public comments are shared with students and guardians via this view.

This method is still available for non-LMS users.

Integrated course diary in the LMS module

As a course educator, when you access the diary tab in your LMS course, you can add public and private comments for your lesson.

You can see your scheduled course lessons for the year, when no entry has been saved they appear grey. Click on a date for the slide-over to enter a diary comment.

You have rich text formatting features to create your retrospective of the lesson or give an up-and-coming intro to a new topic or lesson.

Keep the private comments for your only personal notes on delivery or key topics that need to be covered for future lessons.

Save and check out your entries using My Courses. 

What can students and Guardians see?

All students and Guardians have access to the public diary comments. The menu header will be labelled My Courses or My Course Diary. Select the course and the list of entries is shown.
