Here at MySchool, we are always keen to hear feedback and see how we can help our schools by improving our current product. The product team is here to build a product that helps solve your problems, and the ideas portal is a way for the team to have a direct line to you. 

When sharing an idea with us, tell us as much as you can about what you are trying to achieve, rather than requesting a specific feature. This really helps the team understand what the solution should be in context of MySchool as a whole. Of course, feel free to tell us what you think the feature should look like! If we need more information, we’ll start a conversation in the idea comments section or with your permission, reach out to you directly.

This all helps the product team plan the MySchool roadmap, which we update every quarter. Accepted ideas will be planned for completion during a specific quarter. To help you keep track of what we are doing with ideas, the idea will be assigned one of the below status'.

Needs Review

This is the initial status for each idea, after being created. This means that the idea has been logged and the product team will need to review it. There isn't a specific timeframe, within which this will be reviewed. However we are aiming to have this done periodically.  Any following status, is then selected after the first review is done.

Future Consideration

This status is assigned to ideas that are on par with where we want to bring the product, but we don't have a timeframe for when they will be tackled. The idea is reviewed again, when the module its part of is going to be tackled and the status updated accordingly.

Already Exists

If the idea we receive is already available on the system, even if its not the exact feature as the idea suggests, but something that gives you the same outcome, this status will be given to it. This means that the idea won't be processed further, due to the functionality already being in place.

Will Not Implement

Often times, we receive good ideas that the team will have to reject, as it doesn't fit the vision we have for the product. 

Planned

Should the idea be approved, we will assign it this status. This means that we agree its a good idea and would like to tackle it sometime in the future. Whilst reviewing the roadmap, every quarter, we can plan where this planned ideas fit in. 

Shipped

This means, that the idea has been worked on and is now live on the system. 

To start creating awesome ideas, just log into our Ideas Portal, its important to remember that everyone can see your contributions so do not share any sensitive or support related information on the portal. If you don't have access to the portal, just open a support ticket requesting access.
