Permissions are a part of the Attendance Menu header, MySchool enables the school and the Parents/Guardians, a complete transparency and a simple reporting mechanism. Easy to follow and solves the age old problem of lost paper slips.
How to access
Depending on how you wish to send permissions, we can place them under the Administer Menu header or Attendance. Which ever works best for you, contact the support team for help.
When opened there will be a list of permission slips sent during the scholastic year.
MySchool also shows the stats of Approved, Declined, and Accounts with no mail, so that teachers can keep track of the request.
Creating a permission slip
Open a NEW PERMISSION FORM, to create the slip.
1. Short description
This is the subject or title of the mail that is sent, so be specific and concise.
2. Event Date / Hand in by date
The event date is for the day of the event, whereas the hand in date, is the cut off date for permission slip. Reminders can be set to make sure that Parents/Guardians have ample opportunity to reply.
3. Student group
This brings up the people picker. Choose the target group for the permission slip.
4. Send mail to parents
If this is checked then the Main Guardians will receive an email notification of the permission slip.
After completing the text field with the details surrounded the request. There are many format options, but note that the main aim of the permission slip is to inform and seek approval from the Guardians for a specific activity. Now Save the permission slip with the button in the bottom right hand corner.
Managing the returns
After saving the permission slip, then a list of the students will appear, and you are able to monitor the status. If the Parent guardian logs in they can accept or decline , and this will automatically update the list. In some cases, a hard copy maybe requested, this can be logged as being provided, and when they are provided, there is the possibility to log as approved by hard copy.
In the case where a valid email is not recorded next to a guardian, the system will inform you that this the mail cannot be sent. You may need to update their records, or print out in hard copy.
- Save returns you to the list page of sent permission slips.
- Reminder brings a pop up and will send reminder mails to the users who have not yet replied.
- Export is to export the list to excel.
- Print Hard copy will print out a hard copy of the permission slip.
- Print will print the screen
- Delete will delete the permission slip and remove it from User portals.
Replying to the permission
On the Parents portal in the overview section, the permission slips request window will appear. Clicking on the brings up the details of the event. All guardians have to do is to select or decline.
