With the MySchool IEP module, institutes are able to customise their PDF report, add formatting, and determine content to meet their local needs. Users with permission to 'configure IEPs' and users who wish to publish should have the permission to 'Publish IEPs'. This can be set by changing the security notifications feature in the IEP configuration panel.
You can create as many templates as you need, thanks to our recent upgrade.
Creating the report
The report is a template which relies on using replacement tags to build an adaptive report pulling from the individual student's IEP and profile details. It can be styled in your school's colours, and include hyperlinks and images. It is designed so that terminology can be adapted to meet your local needs.
Many of you will be used to the rich text features, and these can be used here to create the headers, tables, fonts and colours you see here. We can always reset the template for you but are unable to help customise. It may be worthwhile to copy the default template to a Word/google doc so that you have a reference to work with if you want to build your own.
You can copy and paste images and hyperlinks to external websites.
Using replacement tags
As you can see tags are a great way to pull information from the student's profile and their attached IEP details. It is important not to change the spelling or text or remove the brackets [[ ]]. For example, [[STUDENT_FULL_NAME]] will pull the first name and the surname from the common name fields.
Design your sections using tables which improve the layout for the readers. The next section presents each section in a table format. Switch to the table designs tab to edit and configure each part to meet your needs.
Each table has its own set of tags that can be used. Each is designed to pull the fields from the IEP.
Student profile
When you build your profile section, please don't forget to activate it to include it in the final template if you think it's appropriate.
General accommodations
There are two tables concerning the accommodations (General Accommodations, Course specific accommodations). These pick information from these two sections in the individual IEP.
Objectives
This table takes the details from the Plan section of the individual IEP.
Provisions
These are configured in the plan section and will pull from the information once it has been saved on the individual IEP.
Meetings
Again the table configuration will pull information from the meetings section of the student's IEP.
Preview, publish and print IEP
From your configuration panel, when creating your school's report template, you can download a preview to help visualise the result. Please note that this is just for the formatting and the sections are filled with 'invented' options.
Open a student's IEP, and let's look at the action buttons in the bottom right-hand side corner.
In read mode, you can create the PDF, save it or print a hard copy. For publishing, you need to go into edit mode. There you can find the publish button. This will send a copy to the parent portal. If the PDF is saved then this will appear on the student profile IEP tab.
A new parent portal header gives guardians access to their dependant's IEP.
