Communications+ - MySchool mobile application feature list

MySchool is available from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Main guardians and students can have easy access to their MySchool information, such as announcements, assignments, attendance and timetables. They can keep themselves updated with in-app push notifications straight to their device.

How can we get the app?

The app is part of the communications + module. It is an add-on with additional costs. Please check with your CSM if you are unsure of your module packages. Our team can activate the module on your system. If your guardians/students have access to your MySchool platform, they can access the app. 

Please note that the MySchool logo will be next to the real MySchool app in both stores.

Guardians who are active and have access to their dependents will be able to access the app. Students who are enrolled in an active class can access the app.

Download the app and log in

Users will first need to add the school code.

The school code is the first part of your school's URL.

For example, the code for myschooldemo.msm.io is myschooldemo. For detailed step-by-step instructions, check out this article, which can be shared with your students and guardians.

They are redirected to the login page, where they enter their email address and password as usual.

After logging in, they can choose to activate notifications on their device.

What does the app show?

• Announcements which are posted to the system have the ability to star (make sticky) or mark as unread.
• Invoices and the ability to pay online using Stripe (if your school has the tuition management module enabled)
• Check out graded assignments and Educator feedback.
• Consult the future due assignments.
• Multi-school access if their dependents are in different school systems, with the app activated.
• Daily attendance stats showing absences for roll call periods.
• Timetable access.
• Mobile app notifications are configured.
• Language support in Spanish, English, Italian, French and Dutch.

Announcements

Starred announcements are shown on the home page. Click on them to open the content. Scroll to the button to star (Add as favourite) and pin (sticky), or mark as read/unread Open the inbox with the icon. Search with keywords. Use the filter to show starred or unread announcements. This will only show announcements that have been posted to the MySchool platform. Download attachments to your device.

Invoices

With tuition management, your users can now pay their invoices directly via the app. You will need to set up Stripe payments for this. Customers can view a PDF copy of the invoice View previous transactions See settled invoices Turn on notifications when invoices are raised and due for payment

Graded assignments

When assignments are graded, users can access the grades and see the Educator's feedback Filter by course. Mark as viewed. Shows info on the educator, course, and assignment type

Due assignments

Shows assignments due for each student. Check on assignment details such as the course, teacher, type and check on the description. Mark the assignments as done when the student has completed the work.

Attendance

Keep updated on detailed attendance for the whole year Quick overview of the past 7 days Sends in-app notifications when attendance has been submitted.

Notifications

Notifications need to be activated for access to be enabled to the app. Notifications and the MySchool app are part of the Communications + module. Opening the cog icon, your guardians can configure which type of notifications they receive. This will apply to both the app and the system.

Options

Click on the profile icon for more options School info will show the address of the school as configured in the system settings within your MySchool platform. If your guardians have dependents in different schools who are using the MySchool app. They can add multiple schools to consult.  The app offers a selection of translatable languages.

Grade reports

All published grade reports are available for download via the app. These show per dependent student per scholastic year. Download direct to your device.
