The attendance module in MySchool provides users with a comprehensive but easy to use system in order to take attendance, control audits, and publish detailed reports. send permission slips straight to the guardian portal for events, or even to confirm vaccination or extra health requirements. Attendance is linked to year and term management, and timetables, which need to be configured before hand.
How to access
Depending on access rights, administrators will be able to see all options as below under the Attendance menu header. Teachers will have access to Taking attendance, and the Attendance History for their courses. Permissions can be created by Teachers and administrators.
Administrative Updates
Used by administrators if an individual or a student group needs a mass update or correction. The full details can be found here.
Take Attendance
Main functionality used by Teachers. UI is adapted to mobile and tablet usage. Learn more on this feature in this article.
Top tip: Attendance can also be taken via My Schedules or using the Quick action tool bar
Attendance: History
Allows a detailed or an overview report for internal review purposes. This can be used to group students by absence status. This article covers the functions available.
Attendance Audit
An administrator function used to check that attendance has been completed by the designated educator Notification is sent directly to the enrolled Teacher if there are any missing periods. Have a look at the article here.
Permissions
Educators and administrators can create a mini permission slip, which is available on the parent portal. Guardians can confirm their permission directly in one one click.
Advanced Options/Attendance configuration
Administrators can determine the behaviour of each attendance status, add new ones, and determine which types should be classed as absent for reporting needs.
Top tip: Attendance is one of the core functionalities of MySchool. Organise a meeting with your CSM to discuss all options and needs. One of the key factors to a successful attendance strategy is to ensure that your admin team has full knowledge and control of the data.
