FAQ - Why are no parents receiving my announcement?

When you create an announcement for guardians, there are a few other options available and this can cause announcements to be set as pending.

Choose the correct guardian relationship

When you open the audience people picker and select guardians, note that a relationship type is listed. These are all relationship types used historically in your system for guardians.

Guardian

This is for any guardian attached to a student via the contact tab table. In this case, the audience would include ALL listed below.

Main Guardians

This will filter contacts based on the main guardian check box. In the above screenshot, only Marlene and Dad will receive the mail.

Parents

We understand that Parents can be interpreted as Mother & Father, however in MySchool, this is a specific relationship called 'parents'. Commonly used in for a household or shared account.

Mother & Father

These two relationships are specific and unique. The people picker will only select guardians with these two specific relationship types.
