There are a few ways to check this both for yourself and for other users. User groups control access to modules, pages, and functionality. They are also used for communication and reporting purposes for distribution groups.
Security tab and profile
The security tab will show the membership of fixed-member security groups and distribution groups. Distribution groups are represented with a green tick, whereas security groups will have the folder icon with an arrow open to check the security context (school-level access).
Note that no inherent group will show here (Staff, Student, Course/Class Teacher, Guardian, Donor). This will show under the name of the user instead.
User icon (quick action toolbar)
Any user can click on the User icon, and then click on their name in the drop-down. Click on the groups in the membership box. This will show all groups and also the access rights they have.
User group helper tool
We have a tool that Super key users can access which will allow you to export membership of fixed member security groups. It should be accessible in the Sys Admin menu header. If you cannot see it, please contact our support team for them to add it to your instance.
Quick reports
You can export group memberships, and access for users in Quick Reports. It is not available for students. Go to quick reports and change the data set to Users. Apply a filter, is an active employee for example, and then move to the export tab. In the security folder, you can export the names of the User groups
