FAQ - Can we manually update a password ?

All users can change their passwords from the user menu, and click on their name to open their account page.

In certain cases, users may have difficulty recovering the forgot password link. Central administrators with edit security permission can set a manual password for them. This is not available for student users. 

Generate password

Go to the user security tab, in edit mode select Send login invite. Don't panic this will not send an email until you confirm the next pop-up. If you are working on a demo or sandbox instance, communications are deactivated so no mail will be delivered. 

Uncheck the generate automatically field, and you can manually enter a new password. Select send to send this to user or update them via telephone if they are encountering difficulties with their mailbox.
