There are many different ways to add a description or provide insight to students and guardians about the up-and-coming curriculum for their enrolled courses. It is included with our rollover process, minimising tireless ends of copying and pasting from year to year.
What is a course description?
The course description field acts as a mini information web page. Students and guardians access this information from their My Course descriptions, shown on the LMS course resources page.
Build engagement with rich text features
Creating tables to hold the information is a great way to offer online content. Think of it as a web page with the left being menu options or headers. The centre is the body which can be bullet points, and the right column may give further reading, information or important notes.
Time-saving tips
You can copy content from external sources such as web pages and docs. Just be wary of formatting issues before publishing. Use the paste as plain text (right-click on Windows browser/ctrl+shift+v) and then redesign with MySchools great tools instead.
Your CSM can copy the descriptions for rollover if requested. If the curriculum hasn't changed, no need to recreate it.
If you are a boarding school or host international students, then this information is also shared with guardians wherever they are in the world. It is an important tool to keep them updated but also involved in the education of their dependents.
